This policy explains what information is collected when you use the Qonneck mobile application and its associated web messaging page (chat.qonneck.com), how that information is used, retained and protected, and the rights you have.

1. Who we are

Qonneck ("we") is operated by Qonneck, located in Quebec, Canada. For any question regarding the protection of your personal information, you can reach us at: admin@qonneck.com.

2. Overview of the service

Qonneck lets a visitor communicate anonymously with the owner of a property (home, vehicle or other) by scanning an NFC sticker. The service involves two types of users:

• The owner, who creates an account in the mobile app to receive messages.
• The visitor, who does not need an account and does not identify themselves, and who writes to the owner from a web page.

3. Information we collect

For the owner:

• Your email address and name, provided by your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) when you create your account. We never have access to your Google or Apple password.
• Any optional information you choose to add (for example the name or photo of a property).
• A technical notification identifier (token) used to send you alerts about new messages.
• Data related to your stickers (identifiers, category, settings).

For the visitor:

• No identification is required: we ask for no name, email address or phone number.
• The content of the text messages you send.
• The photos you send (reduced to low resolution), limited per conversation.
• Your geographic location, only if you choose to share it yourself in the conversation.
• An anonymous, temporary session token used to link your messages to the current conversation.

Technical data: like most online services, our hosting providers may record technical connection data (such as IP address and device type) for security and proper operation. An anti-robot check is performed before a visitor opens a conversation.

4. How we use this information

• Route messages, photos and locations between the visitor and the owner.
• Send the owner notifications of new messages.
• Ensure the security of the service, prevent abuse, and enable moderation (reporting and blocking).
• Maintain and improve the proper functioning of the application.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising purposes.

5. Consent

By using Qonneck, you consent to the collection and use of the information described in this policy. The visitor consents by completing the verification and sending a message; sharing location is optional and requires your explicit action. You may withdraw your consent by ceasing to use the service and contacting us to request deletion of your data.

6. Data retention

Conversations (messages and photos) are kept for a maximum of 30 days, then automatically deleted. The visitor loses access to the conversation when they close the web page. The owner's account and sticker data are kept as long as the account remains active; you may request deletion at any time.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your information for commercial purposes. We rely on service providers (processors) strictly necessary for the operation of the application:

• Supabase — database hosting, storage of messages and photos, authentication.
• Google and Apple — secure owner sign-in (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In).
• Firebase (Google) — sending notifications of new messages.
• Our web host — serving the visitor messaging page.

Data is hosted in Canada.

8. Security

We implement technical measures to protect your information, including encryption of communications, strict database access rules, and limiting collected data to what is strictly necessary. No system, however, is 100% infallible.

9. Your rights

In accordance with applicable laws, including Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to access your personal information, have it corrected, request its deletion, and withdraw your consent. To exercise these rights, write to us at admin@qonneck.com. Because the visitor is anonymous, we may need details identifying the relevant conversation in order to act on a request.

10. Information concerning minors

Qonneck is not intended for children. The application is designed for an adult audience; the owner account must not be created by a minor. If we learn that an account was created by a minor, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
